Sunset in the Suburbs (Canon 60d Test)

Sunset in the Suburbs (Canon 60d Test) Tube. Duration : 1.55 Mins.

I shot this footage immediately after I got my 60d so I found out the hard way how shaky the footage can get. Two lenses were used: 28mm f1.8 and a 18-200mm kit lens. The prime lens don't have image stabilization so the footage that came out of it was very shaky. My poor man's solution was slowing it down so the problem was less noticeable. For this kind of footage with next to nothing happening, slowing it down can be a good workaround (And if you use something that has a good optical flow algorithm, like The Foundry Kronos, it will probably fix the problem). In the first shot there's also a very noticeable rolling shutter artifact. This issue cannot be prevented on this camera, but The Foundry has the Rolling Shutter plugin that fixes this issue. So lesson learned, don't go shooting out there without some image stabilization solution for your non-Image Stabilization lens, or you'll have a lot of post work to do. (and worst case scenario, a lot of lost footage!) Anyway, you can get beautiful images out of this camera! All shots graded with Magic Bullet Colorista II. Music is Ancient Root by Lapse (check it out and support them here nuevaforma.com or here nuevaforma.bandcamp.com )
